Understanding your handover pack
Your handover pack is a collection of important documents your developer provides when you move in. It's one of the most useful things in your portal.
What's typically in a handover pack
- Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) — your home's energy rating
- Gas Safety Certificate — confirms your gas appliances have been safety checked
- Electrical Installation Certificate — confirms your electrical installation is safe
- Water hygiene / Legionella certificate
- Appliance manuals and warranties — how to use and care for your appliances
- Structural warranty — typically a 10-year policy (e.g. NHBC Buildmark)
- Developer warranty information — usually 2 years, covering defects
Where to find it
Go to Documents in the portal navigation. Your handover pack documents will typically be grouped in a dedicated section or labelled clearly.
Keep a copy
We recommend downloading and saving your handover pack to a safe location (cloud storage or a USB drive). You'll need these documents for insurance, remortgaging, and future sale of the property.
