Your key dates — reservation, exchange, completion and warranty

Your portal tracks the important milestones in your home-buying journey so you always know where things stand.

The milestones

  • Reservation — the date you reserved your home (paid a reservation fee and committed in principle).
  • Exchange — the date contracts were exchanged. From this point, the sale is legally binding.
  • Completion — the date you received your keys and legal ownership transferred to you.
  • Warranty start / end — most new homes come with a 2-year developer warranty and a 10-year structural warranty (e.g. NHBC Buildmark). These dates tell you how long your cover lasts.
  • Defects liability period end — the period during which your developer is responsible for fixing defects identified in your home (typically 2 years from completion).

Where to see them

Your key dates appear on your dashboard. If a date is missing or incorrect, contact your customer care team through the Key Contacts section.
