Creating and tracking defect tasks

A task is a unit of work under a defect β€” useful when fixing an issue takes more than one action or more than one person.

How to use it

  1. Open the defect (Defect Details).
  2. Scroll to the Tasks section and click New Task (or Create First Task if there are none yet).
  3. Give the task a title and description, set its priority and due date, and choose who it's assigned to (a team member or a stakeholder).
  4. Save the task. It now appears in the defect's Tasks list.
  5. To update a task, open it from the list. On the task screen you can edit it, reassign it, change its status as work progresses, and use the back link to return to the parent defect.

What happens next

Task status feeds the defect's overall progress. The assignee sees their tasks and updates status as they go.

Common questions

Who can create tasks?CustomerAdmins and Developers. Homeowners can't create or assign tasks.
