Creating an inspection

An inspection is a checklist run against one plot — for example a pre-handover or defect-liability-period walkround — that captures the defects you find.
How to use it
- Go to Quality → Inspections & Defects.
- Click New Inspection (top right).
- Choose the site and plot the inspection is for.
- Choose the inspection type (for example Defect Liability Period). Types and their checklists are set up in Configuration.
- Set the start and due dates, then create the inspection.
- Open the new inspection from the list. You'll see the Inspection Details screen with the plot's reference, plot name, house type and site, plus a Defect Resolution card showing the age breakdown and a % Closed progress bar.
- Work through the checklist and log a defect for anything that fails — see Logging a defect.
What happens next
The inspection appears in the Inspections tab on the home screen, and its defects roll up into the portfolio stat tiles.
Common questions
Where do the inspection types come from? You define them in Configuration → Inspection Types, and you can attach a custom checklist to each one.
Can I archive an inspection once it's done?Yes — archived inspections move to the Archived tab and drop out of the active list, but their history is kept.
